What's in a name?
So this is LiveJournal, huh? Groovy.
Hmm... I suppose a name explanation is in order. For those of you who recognize the picture from KFM, yes, I am Dinah Lance on that site. Sadly, that name was already taken on this site. (A hit has been ordered. Hahaha Just kidding... or am I?)
Anyway, Dinah Lance (also know as Black Canary) is a DC comic book hero. She does not have her own book, but she is, along with Barbara Gordon, one of the main players in the monthly Birds of Prey. She has also been popping up in lots of other books lately, mostly to deal with JLA/JSA angst. She also recently made an appearance on Justice League Unlimited, voiced by Morena Baccarin (Inara on Firefly).
Siu jerk jai, which roughly translates from Japanese as "little bird" (or at least that is what I am told by comic book writers, so it must be true), was the name given to Dinah Lance by her sensei. Her sensei also trained Shiva, arguably the DC universe's deadliest assassin. Dinah Lance is generally regarded as one of the top-ten hand-to-hand fighters in the DC continuum.
Right. So... there you go. Geeky enough for ya?
